John Luna + Kelcie Johnson

Summit Kids Ministry

John Luna and Kelcie Johnson serve as the Children’s Pastors at The CWC. They are getting married in November and, with their dog Molly Mae, they will become a family of three. John is the Assistant Golf Coach at Truett McConnell University and Kelcie teaches First Grade at Jack P. Nix Elementary School. Both are pursuing their masters degrees at TMU to further their education. With a love for children, these two believe, "At the CWC, we are raising up future leaders for the Gospel to change the world around them.” Within the Summit Kids Ministry, children are challenged by the Word of God to earnestly pray and walk in their spiritual gifts. This generation of children is the church of tomorrow! Through their experience, we hope that each young disciple will faithfully pursue the plan He has for their life.

Leon Gilleland

Salt + Light class

Senior Adults

Leon is a native of White County. He teaches our Salt+Light Bible Study every Sunday morning at 9:45 and leads our ministry to the Senior adults as well as our Saturday night Men's Prayer Group (Sons of Thunder). Speaking of his childhood, he says that "my day started with the smell of biscuits cooking in the wood burning stove and the smell of fresh brewing coffee before chores and school." That's where he learned that "a little coffee and a whole lotta Jesus makes a perfect day." Leon has been serving at the CWC for 50 years in various capacities and has been teaching the Salt and Light class for 38 years. His wife's name is Linda, and he has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
